Arducam, which specializes in camera modules for embedded systems and electronics hobbyists, recently unveiled the Arducam Pivistation 5. This all-in-one Raspberry Pi 5-powered camera kit allows users to build it themselves.

As it’s modular, there are three versions of this camera currently available; these include the 64-megapixel autofocus Hawkeye, ultra-low light Darksee and 1″ 20-megapixel Klarity models – each available for pre-order on Kickstarter right now.

Arducam Pivistation 5 Powered by Raspberry Pi
The Arducam Pivistation 5 is equipped with a Raspberry Pi 5 4GB. As this means it runs Linux, you can treat it as you would any normal Raspberry Pi and explore various types of software available from DIY Raspberry Pi-based cameras released over recent years.

Running a full operating system like that found on the Raspberry Pi means it is likely updated more frequently than any camera from Sony, Canon or Nikon; plus you have the freedom to tailor its functionality specifically to meet your needs.

Need to set up your camera as a web server or upload images automatically to the cloud? No worries; with Raspberry Pi at hand you can do just that easily!

There are three variants of Arducam Pivistation 5 available; they are Hawkeye, Darksee and Klarity. All three models essentially function similarly except for their camera modules – this changes more than just sensor specs!
