Kase, the company that is more often associated with filters and other photographic products, has expanded into lenses. They’ve made iPhone lenses in the past but this is their first lens for mirrorless camera.

The full-frame manual-focus Kase 200mm Reflex Mirror Lens is available here ( ). The lens is available in Sony E, Nikon Z, and Fuji X mounts. In the future, more mounts will be added, including Canon EF and Canon RF, as well as Fuji GFX.

Kase 200mm Reflex Lens f/5.6

The Kase 200mm Reflex lens first appeared on the YouTube channel of the company in February. It was not on display at NAB but it has now been released. The initial launch is in Sony E and Nikon Z mounts, as well as Fuji X.

This is a catadioptric or mirror lens. The lens is internally mirrored, which gives the illusion of a larger focal length while maintaining a smaller physical size. This is similar to the design of many telescopes.

The design of these lenses makes them compact and light for their focal length. However, they do have some disadvantages. Due to their design, they usually have a fixed aperture and manual focus. The bokeh produced by these cameras is unique, with a “donut-like” effect in the out-of focus areas.

There are no sample photos of the new Kase lenses available yet. It depends on what you want and how you like it. You can see an example of this in the announcement for the Tokina400mm f/8-reflex lens that will be released in 2020.
