Pergear announced the release of its new lens. The lens is a 25mm f/1.7 ( click here ) for APS C cameras. It will give a view that is equivalent to a 42.5mm focal length on a full-frame camera when mounted on an APSC body. Not very wide but enough for street photography.

The 165g lens is also ideal for street photography. The f/1.7 opening is useful in low-light conditions. It’s also not very heavy, making it easy to carry with you.

Pergear 25mm f/1.7 APS-C Manual Focus Lens

Pergear’s 25mm f/1.7 lens is an APS C lens that also has a manual focus. It’s not surprising that manual focus lenses can be found everywhere these days. It does, however, limit your options.

It will be difficult to follow moving objects as there is no autofocus. If you want to use the lens for street photography you will have to learn zone-focusing. It is easy to use manual lenses with zone focusing for street photography and events. Prefocus the distance, then take the shot when it is at the correct distance.

Available in five different camera mounts

The lens can be mounted on five different mirrorless cameras. There’s the standard Sony E and the odd Fuji X or Micro Four Thirds. We also have Nikon Z and Canon mount versions.

Recent announcements by Sigma , Tamron , and Canon have shown that Canon is opening its RF mount. This lens is not an official Canon (or Nikon) collaboration. It’s not an issue, however, since it’s a lens with manual focus that does not communicate with the camera.

This cute lens is available for many mainstream camera systems and is very affordable. This lens could be popular with beginners or advanced users who want a unique style.
