It’s normal to be nervous about posing in your wedding photos. After all, there’s only one wedding! Here are some tips to help you relax and get the best wedding album.
Relaxation
Relax! Your photos will look more relaxed if you relax. Listen to the instructions of your photographer and relax. A good photographer will correct your stiffness or tension in photos by posing you, telling bad jokes, or changing the direction of your photo. Natural laughter is the best, so it’s great if you like your Photographer’s Humor.
Hiring quality vendors is another way to relax. It may not seem like this has anything to do about photos or posing but imagine you have a horrible vendor. You will be distracted by the person and this will show in your pictures. Or worse, you may only remember that terrible incident when you see a picture of you taken at that time.
If you are distracted by too many people, even if they don’t bother you, this can cause tension and distract your attention from the moment. One couple that I worked with was constantly being bombarded by questions all day long because they did not have coordinators present at their event. This was a major distraction that disrupted the enjoyment of their day.
Show off Your Good Side
Cross your front leg slightly over your back and shift your weight to the side of the leg that is closest to the camera. You will appear taller and thinner. Your butt will also pop.
You should also angle yourself slightly away from the camera, as you want to avoid being straight on the camera if you’re trying to look thinner. If you’re trying to appear thinner, you should also slightly angle yourself away from the camera. If the photographer does not ask for it, a slight angle away from the camera can do wonders.
Engage with each other
When you are getting your photos taken, don’t forget to show some PDA. Touch, hold and kiss each other while your photographer works all their great posing techniques. You don’t have to wait until your photographer tells you to do this; you might even inspire them.
The couple standing still in a photo can sometimes take me out of it. Even if I am not present, I can see the whole process. The photographer tries to get their positioning and settings just right. They also make sure that the unwanted elements are removed from the scene. The picture is taken. The couple just stands there. What is romantic about this? They are not even engaging with each other. Their hands are down. Isn’t the wedding all about love? You should touch each other while taking photos, unless you are told otherwise.
Don’t be afraid of changing it up. Move from pose to position often to avoid looking stiff. Your photographer will help you by suggesting that your arm should be moved this way or that your chin should be lifted in another direction.
Practice!
is no different. If you want to be good at something you have to practice. Engagement photo shoots can be a great way to do this. This allows you to get to know the photographer better, have a more relaxed shoot, and spend more time.
Take more pictures with your smartphone if you’re not interested in a wedding shoot! Comfort is the key to a lot of good posing. Nowadays, it is easier to be comfortable in front a camera since nearly everyone owns one. Use the tips above when taking pictures together! Engage, don’t just stand still. In casual photographs, try shifting your weight and crossing your legs.
Enjoy Yourself!
You shouldn’t hesitate to have fun with your spouse, and laugh as much as you can. If you overthink each pose, it will result in forced smiles that look fake on the photos. You will get great photos if you are relaxed and have fun.
