Since years I have told people to get a case. Any case is better than throwing memory cards into your bag. Some cases are of higher quality . A perfect example is the PGYTECH ( $99 ) CreateMate. It organizes and protects your cards, as well as providing many useful features. From a built in card reader to a weather resistant body, it has them all.

CreateMate by PGYTECH

CreateMate serves as both a case for cards and a reader. The built-in USB cable allows it to be connected easily to smartphones and tablets while on the move. iPhone users: just wait, USBC is coming soon . The USB-C cable folds inside the CreateMate so that it does not dangle out. It’s important to note that the USB-C is not removable.

You’ll love the sleek design if you like pretty things like I do. The card reader is heavier and bulkier than traditional card readers, but it’s worth the trade-off because it can do both. Choose between Black or Olive Green.

On one side, there is space for two SIM cards, three SD cards and four micro SD cards (TF). You can select between two CF Type-B cards or three CF Type-A cards for the other side.

The CreateMate also comes with a slot that accepts a specially-designed aluminum pin. This pin is useful for phones and tablets that use MicroSD or SIM cards. The pin can be used as a flat screwdriver to remove 1/4-inch screws, such as those found on tripod plates.

The PGYTECH CreateMate card reader is also a quick card reader

You have two slots for card readers on the side. One for SD cards, and the other for CF type B or A, depending on your case. The case includes a micro SD-to-SD adapter if you want to read micro SDs. If you’re confused by all the SD card symbols, please check out our complete guide.

This is cool. After you have finished the file transfer you can store the cards near the reader. Simply insert them in one of the slots. Cards slide into the slots with the fronts facing you. This makes it easier to distinguish between them. The cards are stacked together in this design, which takes up more space. However, I like it better because I can identify the card just by looking at it.
