It’s hard to believe that it’s been over two years since my last review. How did the time fly, huh.

In a previous post, I explained that I was sick of the whole thing. I stopped paying for the website’s server. Slowly, over the course of 2023, my desire to blog again began to return. The new Fujifilm X100VI is the perfect camera to start things off.

The X100 was the camera that started my Fujifilm journey.

What a journey!

The ambassador program has brought me many friends, both in Japan and abroad. Even though my ambassadorship has ended, I continue my collaboration with Fujifilm and deliver product shots and samples for various camera releases.

The X100 and X-Pro cameras have been my main tools for the last 12 years. The two lines have become more complete and refined with each new version. I was convinced that Fujifilm could not improve the X100V. I thought it was perfect. The S, T, and F were also perfect.

The design updates are conservative. The biggest changes have been the V, with its sharp edges and flat top plate. Also, the tilting LCD rear screen with flush design is the most notable. The design changes this time are so minimal that it is basically the same camera.

Fujifilm has released a lot of new cameras since my last blog. There are the X-T5 as well as the X-H2 and the X-H2S, as well as a number of new cameras from the GFX range.

I haven’t commented on or reviewed them since I stopped blogging for over 2 years. But for me, the biggest change was the 40 megapixel APSC camera that is found in the XT5 and XH2.

Since I started using the sensor, I have wanted it to be built into all Fujifilm cameras. It’s not about resolution but rather the way that it renders colors. This is a color rendering I haven’t seen in X-Pro1 since the original XTrans sensors.

The cameras have also seen a number of improvements, including in autofocus, reliability and speed, as well the inclusion of AI modes. All of this helped photographers accomplish their tasks.

This is what I expected Fujifilm would do, if not anything else. Luckily, they did. These are the two main areas for improvement, plus another feature that is very impressive, the IBIS.

Let’s get started, shall we? I will use my tried and tested formula to go through the build, feel and technicalities of the camera and finally the shooting experience.
