A random thought came to me while I was shooting a small event. The idea was stupid. “What if I attached a small printer, like the Fujifilm Mini Link 2, to my camera?” INSTAX ( similar to this ) is more expensive than photo paper and magnets, but I was hooked.

Enter NONS SL660 ($599). This is the type of camera that I dreamed about. But I never imagined I would see it released until announced it in 2022. This is a full-metal INSTAX camera with EF mount and optical viewfinder.

The NONS SL660 occupies a unique place in the market. The SQ40 is a simple-to-use Instax Square format. You can also get an Instax Square back for medium-format cameras. NONS also sells the Hasselblad model for 279. The NONS SL660 sits right in the middle – a full Instax with a medium-format body.

Using the NONS SL660

You will feel comfortable with the SL660 if you have used a previous analog Instax. The camera’s handling is very similar. Let me show you how to operate this camera.

The “film” is in sealed cartridges. Be careful when you open the Instax package. It’s important that you don’t damage it.

Open the back door of the SL660. Insert your Instax Square cartridge with the yellow dot facing up. Close the door.
